Today was our lazy/recovery day before Bennett and I leave for Kodai Kanal. Nathanael will head back to the Americas. Because it was Sunday, we decided to have a group bible study where each of us shared some good passages, then ended with praying. A good start, I thought, to a somewhat slow day. Solomon offered to take us to visit the Godivari River, one of the largest rivers in India. I'm pretty sure it was 7km wide. It pretty much looked like a brown sea. Next, we visited a nearby dam, where someone decided to herd an ocean of goats across. It was kind of impressive watching the herders manage all of their animals. From there, we took the long way home to avoid the goats. We all almost fell asleep, including Solomon who was driving. After getting home, Nathanael wanted to look for some souvenirs, so we headed up the street. At the end of the street, we realized it was Sunday, and everything was closed. Luckily, Deccan Fried Chicken was still open, so we made a not so quick stop. The day ended with an evening church service, and then dinner. We're leaving early in the morning tomorrow, so lets hope for a good nights sleep!

Glad to hear your Sunday was a true day of rest! As awesome as your time spent ministering to these boys is, rest is absolutely necessary to keep from getting burned out.
ReplyDeleteI read this verse at church this morning and I wanted to pass it on to you:
"Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth." (2 Tim. 2:15)
This is my prayer for you: that you would continue to be witnesses for Christ to all of those you encounter and that you would lean into His word to refresh, sustain, and guide you for these last two weeks. Sweet dreams and safe travels to you!
Blessings,
Kelly
Safe travels for all of you today! I hope you will get to see Ingrid. Kelly's post reminded me of your 2:22 Honey Rock camp verse, Bennett. That might be another great devotional verse. Love you all!!
