An Indian Sunday!

Well, today was another great day! Thanks for the prayers on the Sunday School we had to lead! We started off with a music session for the boys, and finished with a bible study on the beatitudes. It probably could have gone a little better, but considering it was our first time, no complaints! After the Sunday School, we played a lot of Cricket, Carroms, and volleyball. All of us were pretty tired around noon, but we regained our energy later on! The boys wanted me (Bennett) to go frog hunting with them again, unfortunately, we only caught a small one. (Nothing compared to that monster one yesterday!) Solomon came and picked us up to go to an evening church service, and luckily, the service was in English! So we didn't have any issues with understanding the pastor. The whole day we had been craving Coca-Cola, and after we returned from church, the three of us went out and bought two giant bottles that were guzzled on the rooftops! There's nothing like drinking Coke in fellowship with my Christian brothers, and taking in all the random noises and smells of India on the rooftop of the house made it all the better! What great lives we all have. Seeing the poor Indian natives on the side of the road begging for food or money is when I truly realize how much God has blessed us.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers over the next few weeks, God Bless!

  1. Bennett, I am so glad to see you using that guitar--you have such a gift! And it looks like you boys also showed off your arm-wrestling skills! I'm glad Sunday School went well--I'm sure the boys loved it. I hope you will have more opportunities to teach, as that is such an awesome way to cement the material for yourself and it's so good to be stretched. I hope you guzzled caffeine-free Coke (but I have a feeling you didn't!) so that Solomon doesn't have three more wired boys on his hands! We are so proud of you all--keep going out of that comfort zone! Xoxo, Mom

  2. Praise God for the work He is doing through you and the seeds He is planting in the hearts of the boys you're teaching! It sounds like he really used each of you today! Don't dwell on what "could have gone better," but focus on what God did use today. Remember as God calls each of you to "step out of your comfort zone," "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13)

I love each of you for your hearts, as young Christian men, open to listening to God's leading-there is no better place to be than walking close to our Savior!

Prayers & Blessings To You All,
    Kelly

P.S. It's funny what "American Things" our bodies crave when we're overseas, isn't it?
